Abstract: There will be two 1-hour talks, first by Xin Sun, then by Nina Holden, on the following topic:
Liouville quantum gravity is a random surface which is conjectured to describe the scaling limit of conformally embedded random planar maps. We present some progress towards proving this conjecture in the case of uniform triangulations, using a percolation-based embedding which we call the Cardy embedding. Based on joint works with Bernardi, Garban, Gwynne, Lawler, Li, Miller, Sepúlveda, and Sheffield.
